Summer Bucket List - end of Summer round up

Seems like a long time since we made up our Summer Bucket List 2012 .  I decided our summer would be from the summer solstice (20th June) until our village show date at the end of August.  We did quite a few things on the list but with daddy being unwell we didn't manage to fit some of the other activities in, although we did a lot of things that weren't on the list.  Most of the things on the list we can carry those forward into autumn.  I really liked the idea of having a list for inspiration and we have almost finished our Autumn Bucket List.

Our list was:

And here is what we did on our list
(have more photos to upload - on another memory card)
  • picnic - we managed a few of these, lunchtime and snack ones, on the beach, on grass, on a picnic table, on a rug, on a log
  • paddle in the sea - an intentional barefoot paddle and a unintentional shoe paddle.
  • a family wedding - Luath had a great time, she slept through the ceremony, loved every part of the meal (especially the chips and peas) and danced/ran on the dance floor until 10pm
  • bandy net fun - we bought a cheap one on the way to a beach one day and it broke so we only got a tiny use of it, but once I fix it we will try this again
  • walk outdoors barefoot - on grass and on the beach
  • fly a kite - Luath loved the kite, we have flown it a few times and she quite often asks for it when we are in the front garden

  • a story time walk - we had lots of fun on our story walk using chalk to draw the creatures featured in The Gruffalo.

  • blow bubbles - a huge hit with Luath and she could spend hours watching, trying to blow, catching bubbles.
  • build a sandcastle - we did this on the beach and also in her sand play table.  She sometimes builds imaginary ones in the house

  • see Olympic football - we saw three goals and then left daddy to watch the end of the second half while Luath charged about in the forecourt area.
  • leisure centre activity - we did a week of Mini Mayhem.  The big parachute was Luath favourite activity, followed by the ball pit.
  • have a puppet show - we had a few little shows using puppets

(Luath was 17-18mths over this period)
