Book of the week -(none) and this week's 5-a-day

Book of the week
This week Luath had no one book that she wanted read again and again.  She had a few that she preferred but not one stood out.

5-a-day books
(I started doing this after reading this post from almost a year ago on the Imagination Tree blog about selecting five books to read everyday for a week and why it is important.)
Stomp
(a former book of the week) this book was due back to the library so we made sure we enjoyed some more time reading it.

Knock, knock, who's there, it's a mini monster....
He stomps around the house, making noise, investigating, he is looking for something.  We all loved this book immediately.  The pictures, colours, words and story are all fantastic.
Luath enjoys knocking at both the door in the book and on the living room door as we read "knock knock".
I think we especially love this story as Luath stomps around the house and the little baby featured in the book could be Luath.


Freddie and the  fairy
(another former book of the week) and also due back to the library so we made sure we enjoyed some more time reading it.

Freddie found a fairy stuck up in the tree...
He rescues her and she grants him wishes.  He wants a pet, but the fairy's is hard of hearing so gets his wishes wrong.  Freddie learns about how to speak more clearly.
Like most Julia Donaldson it has catchy prose and is easy to read.


Rabbit a touch and feel story
From a box of four touch and feel animal stories
(can't find it online)
Lovely board book with different parts on each double page to touch - straw, velvet ear, tail...
We haven't read this one for a while and it was nice to return to it.


Rosaidh Rabaid (Rosie Rabbit)

Our version is in gaelic. A board bok.featuring the numbers one to ten with Rosie Rabbit and teddy.

Moo, Baa, La La La


My mum saw this in a charity shop and knew it was a perfect book for Luath my mum loves how Luath baas)
Simple rhyming text featuring animal noises.  Luath loves joining in with both the sounds and some of the words.  She especially loves the phrase "No No No, that's not right...", she starts saying no no before the page is turned.
Seemingly it is jointed equal with Barnyard Dance for the highest selling Sandra Boynton book.
I saw that in the USA you can get a customised Are you a cow? - how fun!
