I wasn’t sure which book would be Luath’s favourite this week. We still were enjoying our library books, we have had them out for quite a few weeks and some have already featured in previous book of the week posts. Luath also received a fairy tale book set as a birthday present and she has been loving them. although she works her way through the set and doesn’t ask for a repeat of any.
However we visited the library van yesterday and have a new selection of books. “What the ladybird” has been read a few times. We have also made glittering ladybirds and played a ladybird hiding game based on the book.
A cleverly illustrated book, with some collage images, glittering ladybirds and bright scenes. Some pages are very detailed. You learn all the farm animal sounds but that the ladybird never says a word, until one day she hears a plan by two thieves (Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len) to steal the prize cow. How she outwits the robbers is genius.
