Book of the week – Melrose and Croc, Find a smile by Emma Chichester Clark

I think Luath empathised with Melrose the dog in this picture book.  Melrose has lost his smile and his friend Little Croc suggests they go to the country.  Croc suggests varies things for them to do, running very fast, walking up a hill backward and Luath’s favourite balancing a leaf on their nose.

Luath acted out some of the scenes with some of her bath toys.  She already knows the emotion sad, and does express if she is feeling sad.  It was a great way to discuss feeling sad, how it is normal and OK to feel sad and how sometimes doing fun things can help.
