Luath got this book from my parents for Christmas. It was almost guaranteed to be a hit, Julia Donaldson's writing and Alex Scheffler's illustrations. It is the story of a giant who is feeling scruffy as he always wears the same old sandals and gown. One day he spies a new shop and buys some smart new clothes. On his way home he meets some animals in need of help and his clothes.
It is a sweet and easy story to read, with a growing rhyme as George (the giant) meets each animal. The illustrations really bring the tale to life. There are many extra things in the pictures to talk about and plenty fairy tale characters to try and spot. The three bears, a princess and a frog...
